AMELIA

This is the last novel of Henry Fielding. It is the fruit of his later years and reflects Fielding as the critic of legal administration and social machinery. It is very different from Tom Jones. It is full of bitter conclusions and disillusionment and here we have Fielding's attack on law – courts and the evils associated with courts. The Fielding of Amelia is a far older man than the Fielding of Tom Jones.
